Our Vision

About The Program

This immersive minimester (3 weeks) summer course offers an unique opportunity for undergraduate students to explore the intersection of creative design thinking and STEM, focusing on sustainability in the bioeconomy and materials. Designed to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce, this program emphasizes innovative problem-solving, hands-on learning, and collaboration. Students will leverage design thinking to solve real-world challenges, envision future applications of bioeconomy principles, and develop impactful solutions and communication strategies for societal benefit. The program takes place at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and a leading STEM university in Seoul, Korea, combining Science/Engineering and Design lectures, lab experiments, fieldwork, and collaborative design sessions.
